At Commonwealth University College of Medicine, we believe affordable medical care starts with affordable medical education. Our mission is to educate and provide opportunities to a talented and diverse population of students determined to make an undeniable impact on the communities they serve.

CUCOM offers scholarship and resources to help aspiring doctors offset the cost of their medical education. Our medical college scholarships fall into two groups: awarded by selection & awarded by application.

Let us invest in your medical education journey. All students may apply academic and other scholarship at the time of admission. Please see below for additional information.

Students accepted to the Four-Year MD program will be reviewed for scholarships at the time of acceptance. Scholarships are applied across the MD program.

If you have received a provisional acceptance, you may still be eligible for scholarship consideration. Please contact your admissions representative for additional details.

All International (non-US and non-Canadian) students are eligible to be reviewed for scholarships and need-based bursaries. International Students will need to submit a Confidential Financial Statement (CFS) to be considered for an award. Contact your admissions representative for additional details and if you have any questions while completing the CFS.

CUCOM believes in providing quality medical education that is affordable for students worldwide. To make this a reality, the university offers a 20% – 50% scholarship on tuition fees to all qualified students. This scholarship is aimed at making medical education accessible to all, regardless of financial status. The university believes that no student should be denied the opportunity to pursue their dreams of becoming a doctor due to financial constraints.

Members of the Scholarship Committee holistically review every aspect of a student’s file to determine eligibility for all awards we offer.

The Scholarship Committee reviews your academics, extracurricular activities, as well as any research and volunteer work. While not required as part of your admission application, you can upload a resume or CV as part of your application.

Yes, we will consider you for more than one scholarship.

Yes, you will need to complete a separate application. 

Yes! International students are reviewed for all eligible scholarships at the time of admission. You must complete a Confidential Financial Statement to be considered for any needs based awards.

No. Scholarships are only awarded at the time of acceptance. However all scholarships are applied over the full ten terms of your program.
