Special Note for Indian Students : Course of duration for Indian Students is five and half years and the entire five and half year of course shall be conducted at Saint Lucia in the University campus which includes six month of preclinical sciences, two years of Medical sciences, two years of clinical sciences and 1 year of compulsory rotational internship in our affiliated hospitals at Saint Lucia.
5.5 Years Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program

Preclinical -
6 Month
The First six month of the MD program is called Pre- Clinical program. The first year of study acts as a foundation course for the MD Program and is an important part of the complete course in order to understand the next level of Medical Sciences & Clinical Sciences.

12 Month
Students must complete 12 months of internship in hospitals in Saint Lucia where they will be posted in rotation to different departments. This period of training includes ward posting, exposure to HDU and ICU, etc. for comprehensive practical learning.
Successful Pathway for Indian Students
CUCOM gives Indian students the opportunity to earn a 5.5 years MD (equivalent to MBBS in India) degree and fulfill all the requirements established by the National Medical Commission of India (erstwhile MCI). Students have also the opportunity to choose American route alongside their 5.5 years MD program to complete their Residency (PG) in USA.
Students will spend first 2.5 years in Saint Lucia and may do 2 years of clinical rotation in the US.
Students who do not wish to appear in USMLE will complete 2 years of clinical rotation and up to one year of Internship in Saint Lucia, meaning they will have to study in Saint Lucia for the entire 5.5 years.
